How We Work

Picture
One Wind Renewables works in partnership with landowners to develop single wind turbines on their land.

Summary of the Process
  • You supply the land (and wind!)
  • One Wind Renewables provides the expertise, specialist skills and finance
  • One Wind Renewables and our partners construct and operate the wind turbine
  • Landowners benefit from diversified income over the life of the project, reduced electricity prices and contribute to fighting climate change without any expense to the landowner.

One Wind Renewables leases an area of land required for the wind turbine from the landowner. We will develop, construct and operate the wind turbine and the landowner receives a payment directly linked to the performance of the wind turbine.

A hassle-free partnership: The process of developing and installing a wind turbine is a complicated and expensive process with a number of factors to consider, such as environmental assessments and connection to the electricity grid. Using our experience in wind energy development, One Wind Renewables and our partners manage the entire process right through to turbine operation and eventual decommissioning. The landowner provides no risk and no capital – One Wind Renewables pays for all costs associated with the project.

The annual payment to the landowner varies depending on the size of the turbine installed and the wind speed on site. Payments are linked to inflation (RPI), so they grow over the life of the project and prices are guaranteed by the Government under the Feed in Tariff. What’s more, the landowner can benefit from reduced electricity bills by using the electricity generated for their own needs.
